Luis Salinas |

Argentinean self-taught guitarist Luis Salinas started playing at a young age, mostly influenced by his family and local musicians. Soon he teamed up with Adolfo Abalos, Horacio Salgan, Jaime Torres, and Maria Graña and had the opportunity to participate in their recordings. After signing up to GRP, the contemporary jazz performer debuted with Salinas in 1996, followed by Solo Guitarra, which included a version of Stevie Wonder's "You Are the Sunshine of My Life." Salinas returned in 2001 with Rosario. He now has Luis Salinas y Amigos en Espana, a beautiful selection of compositions published in 2005 and currently nominated for a Grammy for Best Instrumental Album in which Luis welcomes some of his friends to play along with him, among them: Tomatito and Jordi Bonell on guitars, Horacio Fumero on Bass, Perico Sambeat on Sax, Jose Reinoso & Repique on the piano, Oscar Giunta, drums and Antonio Serrano on the harmonica. They are all top musicians and altogether a great listening experience. The album "Muchas Cosas" is dedicated to all the musicians who Salinas has shared music with in the last twenty years of his career and especially to those with whom he has does this marvellous project . Muchas Cosas is the winner of Premio Gardel "Best Instrumental Album". |
