BIOGRAPHY : "La Rossignol" ensemble is based out of Soresina (Cremona - Italy) and it's formed by artists and researchers with the aim of studying and diffusing early music and dance. Together since 1987, the members of this company each have lent their individual and spectacular work studies from direct sources historical organ logistic and iconographic research. Their performances have extended all over the world.

El grupo ha ademas partricipado en numerosas colaboraciones con la RAI( Uno Mattina, Festival di Sanremo, Geo & Geo) con Mediaset y con el cine ( II mestiere delle Armi di Ermanno Olmi) asesorias y dirección artística ( entre las cuales el 1° festival italiano de música e danza renascimental)cursos de formación y actualización y la realización de músicas para espectáculos teatrales y de danza antigua .

"Alla Piffaresca"

The "piffari" were the municipal players of 15th Century  , the independent players in every repertory: from the chanson, the "vilannelas" or  madrigals to instrumentals like the executions on the tenor, and especially, dance. Beyond the other common dances (the "Bransle" or "La volta") and those more typically corteus (like the bassodanza "Caterva"), the piffari often executed even instrumental versions of vocal profane songs (for example "les chansons" collected from Attaignant) .
