Visionary ambient-jazz for free spirits. a musical project born from the encounter between Marco Testoni and Nicola Alesini. The evocative and visionary aspects of their own personal approaches to music brought them together in an unprecedented artistic collaboration, and this has now been enriched by the magic of wind instruments and the physicality of percussion and caisa drum, combined in a captivating and enthralling way. Always navigating without fear or formalism, in the atmospheres of world music and jazz improvisation with hints of ambient, minimalism and art-rock to create a marvellous magically evocative mix, with the Pollock Project project Testoni & Alesini have now enhanced their musical palette with some intense new Surrealist.
Their latest album, which is a musical tribute to the beauty of free creativity, allusions to contemporary art are fundamental. The title of the album refers above all to the improvisational aspects of Jackson Pollock’s practice of action painting, but there is also a tribute to Marcel Duchamp in the track “Unnecessary”, as well as “Rivoli 59”, a piece dedicated to the artistic experiences of the organized squatters in Paris. Finally, “Songlian” is inspired by the subtle atmosphere of the celebrated Chinese film Raise the Red Lantern.

Un progetto musicale nato dall’incontro artistico tra Marco Testoni e Nicola Alesini: ad unirli la medesima componente evocativa arricchita qui dall’affascinante connubio tra la fisicità delle percussioni e del caisa drum e la magia degli strumenti a fiato. Da sempre portati a navigare senza timori e formalismi fra atmosfere world e improvvisazioni jazz, tra tinte ambient, minimalismo e art-rock in un mix magico e sorprendente, con "Pollock Project" Testoni & Alesini arricchiscono la propria tavolozza musicale di intensi colori surrealisti. A completare il trio Max Di Loreto, versatile batterista e percussionista. Un elogio musicale alla bellezza della libera creatività dove determinante è il riferimento all’arte contemporanea: a partire dallo stile improvvisativo proprio dell’action painting di Jackson Pollock, sino al tributo a Marcel Duchamp nel brano “Unnecessary” o a “Rivoli 59”, dedicato alla felice esperienza degli squatter organizzati di Parigi, per finire alle atmosfere sottili di certo cinema orientale di “Songlian” un brano ispirato al celeberrimo film Lanterne Rosse.

La XIII° edizione del festival Mompeo in Corto 2011 si è conclusa: tra i vincitori il compositore Ludovico Vagnone al quale è stato assegnato il Premio Tre Lune Records per la Migliore Colonna Sonora per il cortometraggio "Intercambio" di Antonello Novellino, una splendida produzione italo- spagnola che racconta in modo crudo e asciutto i risvolti più orrendi della guerra fra uomini.
